| The research of the Number Theory Group focusses on arithmetic properties of function fields
over finite fields, of modular forms as well as of representations of the absoulte Galois
group of number fields. The algorithmic aspect plays an important role. Of a particular interest are applications to coding theory and cryptography. For this, special elliptic and hyperelliptic curves are constructed, which are relevant for public key systems relying on the discrete logarithm problem. |
